At the
MinneMUDAC Fall Data Challenge, FarmFemmes provided soybean market data for undergraduate and graduate teams to use in developing a strategy to help farmers decide when is the best time to sell their soybean crop. The teams learned a lot about agriculture, markets, analytics, and presentation skills. Top teams in novice, undergraduate and graduate categories were announced on November 9th.
But the challenge to help farmers market their soybeans didn’t stop there! Teams were invited to take what they had learned through the feedback from judges, peers, and advisors and predict the market close prices throughout the month of November in order to win the opportunity to present at FASTCON. This session will showcase these students and the methods they used in their predictions.
